Servicom are actively recruiting for an experienced Radio Engineer, within daily commuting distance of North Yorkshire. Ideal applicants would have experience with PMR / DMR and, or TETRA Radio Technologies along with the skills and know-how of installing and maintaining distributed antenna systems.


Reporting to the Operations Director and working within the Operations team, the Radio Engineer will take responsibility for the installation and upkeep of radio equipment at customer locations located in and around North Yorkshire, although travelling further afield to support other installations and customer will be required occasionally.


The successful candidate will be highly organised and competent with both complex and basic radio systems, and be able to work independently with a first time fix target for all jobs and installations.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Installation of Radio Systems & conducting PMI’s.

Repairing and diagnosing digital radio sets.

Working on radio sets down to component level following circuit diagrams as required.

Handling some customer enquiries relating to repairs and or technical enquiries.

Installation of cable runs, antennas, and other required infrastructure.

Supporting the wider engineering team with day-to-day tasks relating to projects.

Following set procedures as required and suggesting improvements to the processes.

Essential Skills/Requirements:

Strong background in an engineering/installation role related to either digital or analogue radios. Please note we require the successful candidate to have strong bench engineering skills such as soldering etc and working with electronic components backed up with demonstrated experience and/or qualifications.

The ability to work in a structured manor with a disciplined work ethic.

A clean UK driving license – you can expect to travel the UK and very occasionally internationally with this role.

Excellent communication skills.

Excellent computer skills including Outlook, Excel and Word.

Excellent organisational skills including the ability to prioritise tasks to increase productivity.

The ability to work as part of a wider organisational team.

Fluent in English.

Be able to pass a full enhanced disclosure (DBS).

Probation Period and Start Date :

Probation period: 3 months with minor KPI’s added, Stage 2 and performance review at 6 months.

Start date: Immediate, This role is for an immediate start but we appreciate that notice periods have to be observed.
