Tait Liberty systems are ideal for single-site communication over a small area, such as an airport, factory or university, through to regional coverage for a utility or public service providers. In its simplest form the system can provide single-site communication for a factory or an airport. However it's easily expanded to provide full regional coverage with up to ten sites, as could be required by a local authority or regional public safety provider. Tait Liberty systems provide the standard call features of MPT 1327 networks, such as private one-to-one calls, group calls, broadcast calls, priority and emergency calls, interconnection with telephone systems, call records and data communication options. With Tait Liberty, customers can connect any Tait and most third party base stations to the Tait Liberty Channel Management Module through a generic connector. This means a customer can cost-effectively upgrade to the benefits of MPT 1327 trunked radio from LTR or conventional mobile radio equipment. The key reason that Tait Liberty systems are so flexible is that each site has the intelligence to process calls, unlike many other systems which have the call processing intelligence located in a central switch. This distributed intelligence makes the purchase of a Tait Liberty system less expensive and ensures the system is more durable in the unlikely event of equipment failure. For example if an inter-site link is lost the affected site can still place single-site calls. The Tait Liberty flexibility extends to a wide choice of frequency bands and transmitter power levels.
